We all come in, goin' out. However, it's the legacy that one leaves that makes the difference. Paradoxically, unlike Def Comedy Jam and other sycophantic shows of today that betray human dignity, Rudy Ray Moore's "Dolemite" represented a part of Black comedy that was both serious and liberating, inasmuch as Dolemite always gave respect and demanded it back, while, simultaneously, beating the odds against oppression and exploitation.
